Description

Omron STI’s VS6500 Vehicle Scanner is a family of high speed profiling scanners specifically designed for vehicle detectionand classification in automated toll systems. 
A complete Vehicle Scanner consists of a transmitter,a receiver, a controller, two tower environmental enclosures, and interconnecting cables.
The transmitter houses a lineararray of LED’s (light emitting diodes) while the receiver has a
linear array of photodetectors.
Each LED and its corresponding photodetector form a beam.
When a vehicle passes between the transmitter and receiver some of the beams will be blocked, and the vehicle is detected.
The Vehicle Scanner comes in scanning lengths of 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 ft. (610, 914, 1219, 1524
and 1829 mm). Each length is available with beam spacings of 0.5 and 0.75 in. (12.7 and 19.1mm) providing resolution of 0.75 and 1.125 in. (19.1 and 28.6 mm) respectively.
